The men opened the inaugural Inland Empire Athletic Conference season at College of the Desert yesterday, shutting out the Roadrunners 3-0.
"We probably played our most complete game to date," stated Coach Cooper. "The conference opener was a big one and we delivered on the road. Desert is a talented team and a difficult place to play."
Ivan Diaz, who leads the IEAC in goals scored, added two to his season tally, knocking in the bookend points for the Panthers. Carlos Benito-Hernandez put the remaining goal up for Chaffey. Alex Mitchell, conference leading goalie, posted four saves.
"There were 11 total yellow cards and the game could have gotten out of control but we kept our cool and ended the right way!"
The men take on Norco at home Friday.
