Panthers Battle Through Tough Series Against College of the Desert

The Chaffey College baseball team faced College of the Desert in a three-game series on March 24, 26 and 28, showing key individual performances despite the results.

Desert took all three contests, but Chaffey continued to compete and find momentum in key innings.

In the March 24 opener, the Panthers plated four runs on six hits, highlighted by RBIs from Hayden Hull, Michael Saltzer and Grant Price.

Kristian Gonzalez delivered a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate, while the team drew eight walks, demonstrating patience against strong Desert pitching.

Back at home on March 26, Chaffey recorded eight hits, with Hull and Adrian Morales each collecting two. Morales and Price drove in two runs, while Jack Terry added a multi-hit effort.

The series finale on March 28 showcased one of Chaffey’s strongest outputs of the three games, tallying 10 hits in a 4-14 contest.

Terry led the way with a standout 3-for-4 performance and two RBIs, while Morales added two hits and an RBI.

Mason Danison reached base multiple times, and Gonzalez contributed an RBI on a sacrifice fly as the Panthers produced runs in the middle and late innings.

Chaffey's consistency and effort signaled considerable growth as the season progressed.
