Chaffey Powers Past San Bernardino Valley in 10-8
Chaffey College baseball broke through in the middle innings to defeat San Bernardino Valley College 10-8 on April 21.
The Panthers scored 10 runs on 14 hits, with their biggest output coming in a five-run fourth inning. Chaffey followed that with a three-run fifth inning to extend the lead, building enough separation to hold off a late push from San Bernardino Valley.
Evan Salcido went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs, consistently reaching base. Robert Morales delivered one of the strongest performances of the day, finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
David Trujillo added an extra-base hit and scored a run, while Kristian Gonzalez contributed an RBI single as part of a balanced effort with multiple players stepping up throughout the game.
Despite pressure from San Bernardino Valley in the seventh inning, Chaffey’s bullpen held the lead through the final innings.
The Panthers stayed consistent at the plate to close out the 10-8 win in their final game of April.
