Chaffey College Athletics welcomes Grant Mayeaux as the head baseball coach, bringing extensive experience and a strong record of player development at the community college level. His coaching background reflects a commitment to excellence, competitive growth and preparing student-athletes for advancement at the next level.

Most recently, Mayeaux served as an assistant coach at El Camino College during the 2025 season, where he helped guide the Warriors to a 32-14 overall record and a Super Regional Final appearance. Working primarily with hitters and outfielders, he played a key role in developing an offense that posted a .304 team batting average and broke a long-standing single-season home run record. The Warriors finished the season with 40 home runs, surpassing a mark that had stood since 2009.

Prior to his time at El Camino, Mayeaux spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Cypress College from 2023 to 2024, working with infielders and hitters. During his tenure, he helped shape a high-performing offense that hit .293 in 2023 and improved to a .327 team average in 2024. Cypress advanced to the 3C2A Super Regionals in 2023 and the Regional round in 2024, while Mayeaux helped 29 players continue their careers at the next level, including 15 student-athletes who competed at the NCAA Division I level.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Mayeaux serves as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Orange County Riptide of the California Collegiate League. He also served as the head coach of the San Diego Sun Rays during the 2024 season, further expanding his leadership experience across multiple competitive environments.

A native of Huntington Beach, Mayeaux played collegiately at Cypress College and San Diego State University after competing at Marina High School. At San Diego State, he was part of the Mountain West Conference championship teams in 2017 and 2018 and contributed to NCAA Regional Appearances in both seasons.

Mayeaux earned his Master of Science in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University, strengthening his foundation in coaching methodology, player development and performance training.

Mayeaux is excited to begin his tenure at Chaffey College and is committed to building a competitive, disciplined and student-centered baseball program. His vision emphasizes developing well-rounded student-athletes while positioning the Panthers for sustained success on and off the field.
