The Chaffey College men's soccer team showcased its early-season dominance with a commanding 5-0 win on the road at San Diego Mesa College. The Panthers scored three times in the first half and never looked back, using a balanced attack and a strong defensive effort to secure their third straight win.
Chaffey struck early when Julio Martinez opened the scoring in the fifth minute, finishing a pass from Diego Garcia. Ten minutes later, Victor Ramos doubled the lead with a goal assisted by Alberto Gomez, and the Panthers made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute when Kevin Velasquez converted on a setup from Martinez.
The Panthers extended their advantage after halftime as Velasquez added his second goal in the 57th minute, this time unassisted, before Garcia capped the night in the 87th minute off a fed from James Cosner.
Chaffey capitalized on their chances, scoring five times from just seven shots on goal. Velasquez led the team with two goals, while Martinez contributed a goal and an assist in another standout performance. Ramos and Garcia each added goals of their own, highlighting Chaffey's depth up front.
Goalkeeper Fernando Monteon recorded three saves in 90 minutes to earn the shut out, leading the back line that kept the Olympians off the board despite seven shots on target.
The Panthers will be back in action and host Santa Barbara City College on Friday, September 5, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
