Diego Garcia Named IEAC Athlete of the Week

Chaffey College sophomore Diego Garcia has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week after a breakout start for men's soccer during the week of August 25-30.

As a midfielder, Garcia has made an immediate impact, scoring once and adding an assist in Chaffey's 3-1 victory over Antelope Valley College in the season opener on August 26. He followed up with two goals against Santa Ana College on August 29, leading the Panthers to a 6-3 win. In total, Garcia factored into five of the Panthers' nine goals across the two matches, finishing the week with three goals and two assists.

Head Coach Christopher Araya praised Garcia's impact, telling the IEAC, "Beyond the statistics, he has been a crucial presence in the midfield, dictating the tempo of play, creating opportunities for teammates, and consistently stepping up in big moments to provide goals. His contributions have been instrumental in our early success this season."
