The Chaffey College men's soccer team rallied from an early deficit to earn a 4-3 road victory over LA Pierce College on Friday afternoon.
After falling behind 2-0 in the opening 15 minutes, the Panthers responded with three unanswered goals to take control before halftime. Julio Martinez ignited the comeback after converting on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, then assisted Kevin Velasquez in the 36th minute to level the match. Just before the break, Martinez buried a shot off a setup from Velasquez to give Chaffey a 3-2 lead at intermission.
The Panthers extended their advantage in the 70th minute when Alesandros Sanchez scored unassisted to make it 4-2. The Brahmas broke through in the 86th minute, but it was not enough as goalkeeper Christian Hernandez delivered five saves to secure the win.
The Panthers will host their last pre-conference game of the season against College of the Canyons on Tuesday, September 30 at 2 p.m.
