Panthers Deliver Strong Performances at Crafton Hills March Invite
The Chaffey College Swim teams delivered a strong showing at the 2026 Crafton Hills March Invite on March 6-7, highlighted by standout individual swims, relay improvements and several time drops.
The men’s team placed second overall out of four teams, while the women’s team finished third out of five teams.
Sophomore Zixi “David” Xu delivered one of the top performances of the meet capturing first place in the 200-yard freestyle with an impressive time of 1:48.78 and also recorded a strong showing in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing second in 48.31.
Chaffey’s relay teams also produced notable results. The men’s 200-yard freestyle relay finished fourth overall, dropping six seconds, while the 200-yard medley relay tied for second place.
The Panthers continued to show depth in distance, with Daniel Meza delivering a strong performance in the 200-yard individual medley, dropping five seconds for a new season personal best.
On the Chaffey women’s team, Alyssa Garcia led the Panthers with strong individual performances. Garcia placed fourth in the 200-yard individual medley and added a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:28.98.
The women’s relay teams contributed key points, placing fifth in both the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay, while the 400-yard freestyle relay finished fourth overall.
Freshman Mikaela Hernandez also demonstrated determination by competing in the 1650-yard freestyle for the first time, finishing in 26:27.09, earning valuable points for the team.
The Chaffey men’s and women’s Swim teams continue to show growth as the season progresses. The Panthers will return to competition this week as they travel to Long Beach City College for the next meet on March 13.
