Panthers Place Fourth at Oxnard Invitational
The Chaffey College men's cross-country squad started the 2025 season at the 2025 Oxnard Invitational, finishing 4th-overall in the team standings with 112 points. The Panthers had balanced contributions across the lineup with first-year Head Coach Edgar Guadalupe leading the program.
Rohan Weerasekera led the Panthers and finished in 22:25.3 to secure a top 35 finish. He was followed closely by Adam Espinoza, clocking 22:28.4, and Hugo Meneses, who ran 23:03.2. Airic Medina added a 23:30.2 effort, while Anthony Castro contributed at 28:05.9.
The Panthers spread between their top four runners highlighted depth and competitiveness, keeping them ahead of Oxnard College and Antelope Valley College in the final standings. Cerritos College claimed placed 1st overall with 19 points, followed by Mt. SAC (41) and El Camino (107).
The Panthers will compete next at the Golden West Central Park Classic in Huntington Beach on Friday, September 19. Races are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
