MEDRANO GETS TRIPLE DOUBLE AGAINST CITRUS

The Panthers started off tonight's game strong leading the visiting Citrus Owls 24-9 after the first period and 30-21 at the half.  Slowly in the 2nd period the Owls took charge cloing the gap to six by the end of the 3rd and tying it up with 4 minutes left on the clock.  At the end of regulation the teams were tied 59-59 followed by a 67-67 tie five minutes later.  After double OT, the Owls eventually took the game 88-80.

"It was just a matter of pacing," said Head Coach Tasha Burnett.  "We set the pace in the first half and gave it our all.  By the time we hit overtime, we had hit the wall and we let them play a back-and-forth game.  Fouling out two of our key players in OT didn't help either.  We've played that kind of game now and we know what to expect; we're prepared for Southwestern on Friday."

Brianna Medrano had her best game of the season hitting a triple-double tonight against Citrus: 18 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists.  Five Panthers scored in double digits: Brillonie Bell (18), Jaylyn Edmonds (15). Trinity Walker (15), and Elyanna Rios (12).  Bell had 17 rebounds on the night.

The Panthers are at home Friday afternoon against Southwestern.
