The ladies suffered their first loss of the season to longtime rival Rio Hondo yesterday, falling 2-1 at home. The Roadrunners took an early lead scoring two goals in the first period of play and holding off the Panther offensive push. "It was a tough loss for us only because we played very well first half but couldn't find the back of the net," said Coach Cooper. "They only had two real opportunities in the first half and they executed. It's a hard loss, when you feel that you played better soccer."
Despite a second period goal by Niyah Sanders and several opportunities that didn't get through, the Roadrunners took the game by one point. The women take a much deserved break resuming play on October 1st to start the IEAC season at home v Desert. Desert is 2-4-1 in the preseason.
