Gionna Diez Named IEAC Player of the Week

Chaffey College sophomore Gionna Diez has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week for her standout performance for women's soccer during the week of September 1-6.

As a forward, Diez delivered a dominant outing against Long Beach City College on September 2, scoring twice in Chaffey's 3-0 victory over one of the top programs in the state. She spearheaded the Panthers' attack early, opening the scoring in the fourth minute, and extended the lead after halftime with her second goal in the 63^rd minute. Diez consistently created problems for the Vikings' back line with her pace and determination.

The IEAC praised Diez's performance, stating, "Faster, stronger, and more determined this season, Diez is on track for an MVP campaign."
