The Chaffey College women's soccer team extended its undefeated conference run with a 2-0 win over Victor Valley College on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers struck early and controlled the tempo throughout the match, earning their fifth consecutive win and maintaining their strong form in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play.
The Panthers wasted no time getting on the board, as Gionna Diez opened the scoring in the third minute, capitalizing on a defensive miscue and finishing unassisted to give Chaffey the early advantage. Less than 10 minutes later, Karina Parchment doubled the lead with a composed finish in the 14th minute after creating space at the top of the box to make it 2-0.
From there, Chaffey dictated possession, keeping Victor Valley's attack contained through disciplined backline play and midfield control. Alexa Pereida and Natalia Gonalzez orchestrated play through the center, while defenders Sofia Guerrero, Emma Guadron, Chloe Rodriguez, and Tegan Garcia held shape to limit the Rams to six total shots.
Goalkeeper Isabella Ortiz posted her sixth clean sheet of the season, turning away all four shots on goal and directing the Panthers' back line with composure. Offensively, Chaffey registered 13 shots, 10 on goal, behind consistent pressure from Diez, Parchment, and Pereida.
The Panthers are now 5-0 in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference. Chaffey will look to continue their momentum when they travel to Norco College on Friday, October 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
