The Chaffey College women's soccer team battled to a 1–1 draw at home against College of the Desert on Tuesday afternoon.
Desert opened the scoring in the 25th minute with an unassisted goal, but Chaffey responded with composure in the second half. In the 65th minute, Alexa Pereida equalized for the Panthers, finishing off a setup from Natalia Gonzalez to make it 1–1. From there, Chaffey continued to press forward, generating chances through the midfield while maintaining shape along the back line.
Midfielders Gonzalez, Emelyn Montes-Bueso, and Amanda Coronado helped direct tempo through the center of the field, while defenders Sofia Guerrero, Emma Guadron, and Tegan Garcia anchored the back line to limit Desert's opportunities in transition. Goalkeeper Isabella Ortiz provided a steady presence in the box, organizing the defense and helping preserve the result.
With the tie, Chaffey remains unbeaten in its last two Inland Empire Athletic Conference matches. The Panthers will return to action on Friday, Nov. 7, hosting Victor Valley College at 1 p.m.
