Panthers Show Promise in First Home Meet
Chaffey College’s women’s swim team opened its home slate with a competitive tri-meet against East Lost Angeles College and Mt. Sac, showcasing determination despite falling short in the results on March 20.
The Panthers turned in a strong collective effort, highlighted by seven personal-best performances across multiple events.
Elise Camarena led the way with standout swims in the distance freestyle races, recording personal bests in both the 200 and 500 freestyles.
Savannah Shaw delivered a key improvement in the 100 individual medley, shaving two seconds off her previous time.
Jaidah Robinson added to the team’s momentum with new personal records in the 100 and 200 freestyle events.
Aliyah Thomas and Tiffany Cobos took on the 1000 freestyle for the first time, showing resilience in the grueling distance event.
While Chaffey was unable to secure a victory against two strong teams, the meet served as an important season milestone. The Panthers emphasized team support and energy throughout their home meet.
Chaffey will look to carry that progress forward as they prepare for the next meet on March 27.
