Panthers Make Waves at South Coast Conference Championships with Record Performances
The Chaffey College swim teams delivered a standout showing at the South Coast Conference Championships on April 16-18.
The women’s team demonstrated impressive balance throughout the meet, placing four relay teams in the top six while recording 15 individual top-16 finishes. Across the board, every swimmer posted personal best times.
On the men’s side, Chaffey showcased both depth and individual success. The team secured seven top-eight finishes overall, fueled by significant time drops and season-best performances throughout the meet.
Sophomore standout David Xu captured first place in both the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle events, while also earning a third-place finish in the highly competitive 50-yard freestyle.
Xu’s efforts earned him qualification for the upcoming state meet, where he will compete in the 200 butterfly, 100 freestyle, and 200 freestyle.
Overall, Chaffey’s performance at the conference championships reflects a season defined by steady improvement and strong team dynamic. The Panthers are well-positioned for continued success moving forward.
