Grace Hoang Named IEAC Athlete of the Week

Chaffey College sophomore Grace Hoang has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week following a standout week for volleyball from August 25-30.

As a libero, Hoang directed the Panthers' back row during the opening week of the 2025 season, racking up 43 digs (4.3 per set), nine service aces, and seven assists. Her quickness and ability to read hitters consistently kept plays alive, while her aggressive float serve disrupted the opponents' passing and limited their offensive options, which created scoring opportunities for Chaffey. Beyond the numbers, she played a central role in the Panthers' serve-receive game, providing steady passing and constant communication to stabilize the defense.

Head Coach Haley Gomez praised Hoang's leadership, telling the IEAC, "Grace is a huge part of Chaffey Volleyball's passing game, and is always one of the loudest on the court."
