Panthers Show Development and Emerging Talent Throughout 2025 Season
The Chaffey College women's volleyball team completed the 2025 season with continued growth across all phases of play, facing some tough Inland Empire Athletic Conference opponents in recent years. The Panthers closed the season with a 2-18 overall record and a 0-10 record in conference play, using the season to build foundational experience for a young roster that featured 10 freshmen and three sophomores.
Freshman middle blocker Emma Rhodes emerged as one of Chaffey's most productive offensive contributors, finishing the season with 98 kills, a 1.63 kills per set average, and a team-leading 25 total blocks (five solo, 20 assisted). Rhodes was also recognized for her impact this season by earning IEAC Player of the Week from Oct. 27-Nov. 1.
Sophomore outside hitter Bria Love became a key six-rotation contributor, totaling 150 kills, 153 digs, and 5 block assists across 18 matches. Love's consistency both offensively and defensively earned the IEAC Player of the Week from Oct. 13-18, further highlighting her importance on the outside attack. Her 2.89 digs per set ranked the second highest on the roster.
Freshman opposite and outside hitter Lauren Medina added 84 kills, 60 digs, and four block assists, contributing consistent offensive support across 20 matches and demonstrating early development as a terminal attacker. Freshman middle Kasey Que also added 43 kills and 15 total blocks.
The Panthers' setting duties were shared by Madalyn Ayers Morris and Natalia Frausto, who combined to distribute the offense throughout the season. Ayers Morris finished with 137 assists, 73 digs, and one solo block, while Frausto added 149 assists and 65 digs. Their combined 286 assists helped guide Chaffey's offensive structure across multiple rotations.
Sophomore libero Grace Hoang delivered one of the strongest defensive seasons in the IEAC, closing the season with 207 digs, an average of 3.34 digs per set, to lead the Panthers on the back line. Hoang's exceptional defensive consistency earned her being named the IEAC Player of the Week from Aug. 25-30 and Nov. 3-8, highlighting her impact in serve receive and backcourt coverage. Freshman libero and defensive specialist Aviana Langston added 54 digs, while freshman defensive specialist Rachel Buck contributed 18 digs and steady service pressure.
At the net, Rhodes with 25 blocks, Quevedo with 15, and Williams with 11 formed the team's most effective blocking trio, combining for 51 of Chaffey's total blocks.
Despite the final record, the Panthers demonstrated measurable improvement as the season progressed, including extended rallies, stronger block discipline, and increased serve receive cohesion. The team's most competitive stretches came in late season matchups, where scoring runs, improved hitting efficiency, and deeper rotations showed signs of continued development.
The team will enter the off-season with a strengthened foundation. The experience gained from a full year of conference play, improved statistical production, and the continued development of a young roster position the Panthers to push toward a stronger and more competitive 2026 se
