Emma Rhodes Named IEAC Athlete of the Week
Chaffey College freshman Emma Rhodes has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week following a dominant two-match stretch for volleyball from Oct.27-Nov. 1.
As a middle blocker, Rhodes continued to be one of the Panthers' most impactful front-row players, showcasing her presence at the net and her ability to influence both sides of the ball. With the matches against San Bernardino Valley College, she totaled 13 kills and five blocks, including a 10-kill, three-block performance on Oct. 29 and three kills with two blocks on Oct. 31. Her ability to consistently create offensive opportunities, demand the ball in tight moments, and apply pressure at the net proved critical for the Panthers throughout both matches.
Head Coach Haley Gomez praised her growth and impact, telling the IEAC, "Emma is a great blocker and a strong hitter for us this year. She's constantly looking for ways to improve and has grown a lot this season."
