Grace Hoang Named IEAC Athlete of the Week
Chaffey College sophomore Grace Hoang has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after another standout defensive performance for volleyball from Nov. 3-8.
Hoang delivered one of her strongest weeks of the season, highlighted by an exceptional and personal-best 25-dig performance against Cerro Coso on Nov. 5, where she also added one ace and four assists. A few days later, she followed with seven more digs and another ace against College of the Desert, continuing her role as the foundation of the team and delivering exceptional defensive consistency.
Hoang is one of the team's most reliable passers, leading Chaffey in both digs and serve-receive rating this season.
Head Coach Haley Gomez praised Hoang's leadership and presence on the court, stating, "Grace is a huge leader on our team and very passionate about this sport. She leads Chaffey Volleyball in digs and serve-receive rating. It has brought me so much joy to watch her play and coach her this season."
