Panthers Finish 2025 Season at 3C2A State Championships
The Chaffey College men's cross country team finished its 2025 season with a competitive final race at the 3C2A State Championships on Saturday. Facing the deepest field of the season, sophomores Adam Espinoza and Rohan Weerasekera represented the Panthers on the state's biggest stage, competing against more than 190 runners from across California.
Espinoza led the pace for Chaffey, clocking 22:37.31, and Weerasekera followed close behind with a 22:43.67. Their performances reflected the consistency both runners displayed throughout the season, closing out their Chaffey careers with composed and competitive final races. Together, the pair showcased Chaffey's presence at the state level and highlighted the steady progress of the program.
As the season progressed, both the men's and women's teams demonstrated measurable growth. The men's roster featured a blend of returning sophomores and developing freshmen, whose continued improvement contributed to stronger pack cohesion, more consistent pacing, and increased competitiveness against regional opponents. The women's roster, led by Alexis Montano, showed similar advancement, gaining valuable racing experience throughout the season.
The Panthers are well-positioned to develop and thrive during their out-of-season. The foundation built in 2025, shaped by rising confidence, improved cohesion, and a strengthened competitive edge, propels the Panthers into the 2026 season with renewed determination and the momentum to push more runners into state-qualifying contention.
