Panthers Fall to Imperial Valley
The Chaffey College women's volleyball team faced a tough challenge in its home opener of the 2025 season, coming up short in three sets against Imperial Valley College at the Sports Center. Despite the 25-20, 25-22, 25-13 result, the Panthers showed stretches of strong execution and continue to build experience early in the season.
Chaffey's offense was paced by Bria Love, who turned in another all-around performance with seven kills, 13 digs, and four service aces, finishing with 11 total points. Emma Rhodes and Jade Serrano each added four kills, while Lauren Medina contributed two kills and three digs. At the setter position, Madalyn Ayers-Morris kept the offense moving with 10 assists and chipped in defensively with six digs and one ace.
The Panthers were effective from the service line, recording 11 aces, with Love adding four, Kaylee Honig contributing three, and Grace Hoang tallying two. Hoang led the backcourt with a team-high 11 digs, while Love and Ayers-Morris combined for 19. On the net, Serrano contributed two block assists to help slow the Desert Warriors' attack.
The Panthers will return to the road on Tuesday, September 2 to face Fullerton College at 5 p.m.
