Panthers Show Late Fight in Road Loss to Victor Valley
The Chaffey College volleyball team fell in straight sets to Victor Valley College (25-21, 25-13, 25-22) on Friday evening in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play. The Panthers showed strong energy and offensive balance throughout the match, closing with their best rhythm in the third set.
Bria Love led the attack with six kills and a service ace, while Lauren Medina also tallied six kills and contributed defensively with key receptions. Emma Rhodes added five kills and three aces to round out a productive front line. Lailah Williams had three kills on six swings, and Kasey Quevedo added two kills.
Setters Natalia Frausto and Madalyn Ayers-Morris combined for 18 assists to guide the offense, while Grace Hoang and Medina steadied the backcourt with steady defensive play and improved passing in the final frame.
Chaffey's momentum built late as they battled point-for-point in the third set, highlighted by improved ball control and serving consistency. Despite their push to extend the match, the Rams held on to secure the win.
The Panthers will return home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, to host San Bernardino Valley College at 5 p.m.
